This truly brought out the morning show monster in me. I was furious at everything. There's no element to be seen to be aired live during the start until about 6-ish in the morning.

Kaya kahit mainit, at nagtatakbo ako along with Raymond at matuyo ang lalamunan ko sa kakasigaw, it's all worth it. yey.

Alimango Festival-Calauag, Quezon



This is by far, the farthest LIVE REMOTE EVENT I've covered travelling by land. The 7 hour drive (stopovers included) should be worth it, I told myself. Pffft. As if I have a choice. The Alimangos from Calauag Quezon are gargantuan, they look menacing and cruel. Or probably it's just me frightened since I am not accustomed with seeing such humongous crawling creatures.

Merit notebooks
Napakapangit na shot naman nito. Hmp.
I now have a whole lot respect for the folks who manufacture notebooks. I look back seeing myself when I was in higschool recycling some of my notebooks. Imagine the spring notebooks are manually inserted in each holes on the paper, wow!

Sidenote: a week after this event the competition called the notebook factory saying they also want to do a live segment similar with what "Unang Hirit" did.

Nakalimutan kong ilagay sa "hates" side ng blog na ito ang PALENGKE. I super dread having to hold coverages in the wet market. Hindi ako maarte; aba namamalengke kaya ako, I just think "price watch" are supposedly the straight NEWS program's jobs to take care of. I think wasting more than three hours in a fetid market with flying roaches and getting your poor crew get their asses down and dirty isn't worth it at all. But typically holding our events here usually means one thing: Walang Storya.

I may have an Ilocano blood but never would I enjoy another Vigan empanada. It's too sinful. I could just imagine the look on Drew's face upon learning I downed almost two large pieces of Vig@n emp@nada. Him being the epitome of healthy eating would defintely don a sorry look on me. I can't believe Tes$a Niet0, one of my favorite people in the world ate too much and not gain weight. Arrgh.

So on with the event...
We opened Tiendesitas very early to give a headstart on what to give moms on mothers' day. Nothing too fabulous or extremely fancy, everything was nice and subtle, and I was just pissed that we weren't given enough exposure because the supposed three gaps was reduced to two. That sucks

Drew hosted, and everyone can't wait to leave the location as soon as we tape our supposed live feed. The story here was the supposed summer sale of the export overruns sold in Dapitan. After taping three tedious segments using only one camera (which proved to be a challenge,) we hurriedly went back to base. Imagine the horror of having to find out ON AIR that drew did a second TAKE (GASP!) and they (the people in the studio, the assistant director, pointedly) actually forgot to note, that there was a take two.

Lessons learned:
Never place J0lenz in a closed place packed with smokers. She can't seriously sing; initially I thought she's just exhibiting signs of kaartehan, but the poor petite singer is so nice and walang kyeme that she cried explaining to me how it really gives her a hard time (singing in the morning, let alone add a nasty smoker in the location)

Don't assume. Just because the location was named "Funhauz", it is not an amusement park.

Mala boracay sa pampanga ba kamo? eh nasan ang white sand?

Aber, pinaglololoko naman ako ng lugar na ito. Mala boracay daw, yun pala pautot lang nila dahil may mga parties daw kapag weekend na natatapos ng 3am, may henna tattoo at beads, yun lang. pero wala akong nakita ni isang dakot ng buhangin, bukod sa buhangin sa construction site na itinatayo pang building.
Okay lang, mahaba naman ang naitulog ko sa event na ito.

My funny valentine- studio lang

I'm simply glad nasa studio ako nun, hehehe. Never mind na wala akong ka-partner na researcher. For once, I actually enjoyed being in the studio, although I don't deem J@ke "feeling-ko-malaki-balls-ko" Roxa$ to be a suitable guy girls would vie for to catch his attention. Anyway, it was a nice comic relief to see Angelic@ (I'm-a-product-of-john-robert-power) J0nes, Ms. Pat Isr@el (which I adore and loved talking to) and Sug@r of Sexmb0mb (sweet sweet kid) make and sorta fought for a grand prize of a whirphool gas range.. which eventually won by Sug@r. Lahat umuwing may daladala, the remaining 3 won microwave ovens plus honorariums.
How jologs can you get? It was fun though.

Magulo, at in fairness naman sa eskwelahan, major effort ang kanilang ginawang English week. Nag-trip ang dalawa kong host na mag-camera. Si drew, feel na feel. Si Eagle di kinaya matapos ang 5 minuto sa bigat ng camera. Ang mga kabataan ay kilig na kilig sa lolo ko. Maski si Principal. Nakakatakot.

This has got to be one of our toughest pre-production EVER. Simply because we were in a place we have no knowledge of, we have no vehicle service, we only depended on riding taxis, and we were pressed for time.
But the good ones, as always, outnumbered the bad ones.

I think the most disturbing part of the show was when the Dinagyang mascot Dagoy started flirting with the chinese mascot. Marie and Ate Carol, the two people who are frightened of mascots are probably thankful there weren't assigned to cover this assignment as they would surely find this scary.

But it was actually cute, heee. :)

I have this mindset of my live remote event. In lieu of the chinese new year, we've asked to come up with a chinese related event. So we've preoceeded to produce a very scrumptious chinese buffet menu at the Shangri-La.

Everything was all set, until I saw my team head's message on my phone at around 2:00 in the morning.

Call me. Surprise.

The next thing I knew, Nahnah and I were off to Iloilo for the 2006 Dinagyang Festival coverage.
So ate Carol took over my chinese food event.

It's evident who enjoyed the event.

Upon arriving at the location, the reeking stench from the water embraced us along with the chilly air. I'd welcome the latter, and we eventually got used to the former. Aside from being seen on TV bitching during a live segment, my host namedropped me claiming I was a source of a certain showbiz tsismis.
